Many professionals reach a point in their careers where everything appears to be going well. They carry responsibility, build their careers, and deliver high quality work. From the outside, there seems to be little reason for doubt. Yet, at some point, many begin to experience a growing sense of tension. Work requires more energy than before. Decisions feel less straightforward. Sometimes there is a sense of moving forward but no longer knowing exactly why. These questions often arise later in a career. Not because someone has failed but precisely because they are seriously reflecting on the direction of their life. Many professionals recognize one or more of the following experiences:
- Work that once provided energy now feels increasingly demanding
- Important decisions feel less natural or obvious
- The sense of being in a role that no longer fully fits
- Recurring patterns in work or relationships
- Doubt about the direction of ones career
- The question of what one truly wants to contribute
People often try to resolve the mentioned tensions through practical changes. For example by changing jobs pursuing further education or taking on a different role. While such steps may provide temporary relief they rarely address the underlying issue when personal values and life patterns remain unclear. The underlying issue often runs deeper.
In many cases this tension arises because three fundamental elements fall out of alignment:
- Who a person truly is
- The values that drive them
- The way their professional life is structured
When these elements are no longer aligned a structural tension emerges between who someone is and what they do on a daily basis. Work and life are no longer experienced as a natural expression of the self but rather as something that must be sustained. As a result energy gradually declines, decision making becomes more difficult and certain patterns continue to repeat themselves. Without insight into the underlying values and mechanisms these patterns tend to persist even when external circumstances change.
The Career and Life Alignment Program has been developed to help professionals systematically examine and resolve this underlying dynamic. The program provides a structured method to make personal values explicit, analyse recurring life patterns and understand how these patterns relate to professional functioning. Based on these insights work identity and life direction can be brought back into alignment. The method makes existential questions not only visible but also practically applicable.

The method behind the program
The program has been developed through a collaboration between Management Platform and Katharsis Academy and combines insights from multiple disciplines such as:
- Philosophy
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Humanities
- Experience from business practice and higher education
This combination results in an approach that is both analytical and personal. The insights gained during the program can be directly applied to real life professional challenges.
What does the program deliver
Participants gain insight into the values that drive their behaviour and decisions, the patterns that shape their lives and work and the tensions that arise when work and values are not aligned. This leads to greater clarity in personal direction, improved decision making in career and professional life, increased energy and consistency in performance and a deeper understanding of recurring life patterns. In addition participants develop new perspectives for addressing current challenges. The method can also be used repeatedly for future decisions and moments of reflection.
Structure of the program
The Career and Life Alignment Program consists of a carefully designed series of assignments that can be completed independently. Participants work step by step on analysing their values, patterns and life direction. The program includes the following:
- A comprehensive program guide
- Nine structured assignments with explanations and examples
- An Excel tool to record responses and analyse outcomes
- Two hours of personal consultation with Katharsis Academy
The assignments can be completed at one’s own pace and are designed to allow insights to emerge and be processed gradually.
Consultation
As part of the program each participant receives two hours of personal consultation. This consultation can be used to ask questions about the assignments, discuss insights that arise during the process, reflect on personal challenges or receive support when dealing with emotions or dilemmas. The consultation can take place by phone or in person and is handled with full confidentiality.
What questions can the program help address ?
The method can be applied to a wide range of questions both personal and professional, such as:
- How can I create a better balance between work and private life?
- Which career direction truly suits me?
- How can I better realise my professional potential?
- Why do certain patterns keep repeating in my life?
- How do I deal with conflicts in my work?
- What gives my life meaning and direction in life?
- How do I deal with experiences of loss powerlessness or trauma?
The program is suitable for both concrete issues and broader reflection on life direction.
